Cut-out Curtains and lamps- Cortinas y lámparas recortables

Until Dawn es una cortina diseñada por Tord Boontje, esta hecha de Tyvek, un material de papel sintético muy fuerte. Se puede colgar de un clave con las cintas que tiene arriba y simplemente, recortar lo que sobre con unas tijeras hasta alcanzar la longitud deseada. ¡Se acabó el coser!


También es suyo el diseño de esta lámpara Midsummer Light , la pantalla esta hecha de dos capas recortadas de Tyvek y dentro tiene un un cono de mylar para mantener la pantalla lejos de la bombilla.

Until Dawn is a curtain design by Tord Boontje, It is made from Tyvek, a very strong synthetic paper material. The curtain can be hung with the double sided tape endings on the top over a wire. With scissors you can cut it to the desired length. No more sewing!

He has also designed the Midsummer Light , the lampshade is made of two layers of cut Tyvek and has a Mylar cone inside that keeps it away from the light bulb.

Grandma’s revenge, compact kitchen- Cocina compact

Tengo una amiga que se acaba de comprar un piso, pequeñito , muy pequeñito, a quien le vendrías fenomenal esta cocina compacta Grandma's Revenge (la venganza de la abuela), de las alemanas Melanie Olle y Ilja Oelschlägel pero por ahora es solo un concepto.
Juega con la idea de convertir un dibujo en un espacio tridimensional

Packaging Innovation- Innovación en el packaging

Una compañía japonesa llamada Design Barcode crea estos códigos de barra, utilizándolos de base para crear todo tipo de figuras, funcionan igual de bien que los tradicionales y añaden un punto de creatividad a los envases.
Además por esta idea han conseguido el leon de titanio en Cannes 2006.

A company in Japan called Design Barcode creates this amusing barcodes, they use the barcodes to design any kind of figures, they are as functional as traditional barcodes and they add a point of creativity to the packaging .
For this idea they have won the titanium lion at Cannes 2006

Feric’s illustrations- Las ilustraciones de Feric

El estilo de ilustración de Eric Feng (Feric) , revela su arte surrealista entre la fantasía y la realidad, una mezcla de seres naturales y mecánicos.
Muchos de sus dibujos me recuerdan a planos de ingeniería o a instrucciones de montaje. Muy interesantes.

Gettable design lamps- Lámparas de diseño accesibles

PH Collection , es una marca de iluminación y objetos de diseño contemporáneos y que propone el diseño industrial de autor más accesible… al bolsillo. Este concepto lo han llamado “The gettable design”
Esta intención es algo que comparto totalmente con la marca cómo filosofía de diseño, pero no encuentro por ningún lado el precio de sus divertidas lámparas para ver si realmente son accesibles ;-)

PH Collection is a lighting and contemporary design brand, which proposes to make more accessible industrial author design … to the pocket. They have called this concept “The gettable design”.
The intention is something that I totally share with this brand as a design philosophy, but I don’t find the price of their amusing lamps anywhere at the web page to see if really they are so gettable ;-)

Video proyección gigante - Giant video projection

¡Precioso!, debe ser impresionante verlo en directo.
Esto es una video-proyección gigante, realizado por Easyweb , especialistas en video proyección monumental sobre las fachadas de una plaza de Dijon, en Francia.
En las navidades del 2004 estuve en Lisboa, Portugal y en la plaza principal “Plaza Do Comerço” había unas proyecciones de luz color y música, espectaculares, pero esto es mucho más impresionante.

Beautiful! It must be amazing to see it live.
This is a video of a giant video projection, done by Easyweb, specialists in monumental video projection, over the walls of a square at Dijon, in France.
In 2004’s christmas I was at Lisbon, Portugal, and in principal square “Plaza Do Comerço” there were projections of light, color and music, it was spectacular, but this is much more impressive.

Sandberg Institute will sell the front of its building located in Amsterdam, Holland, for advertising, similar to the million dollars webpage.

Their creators define it as Artvertising; “A new work that sets it self in the borders between commercial art and critical art”

Una invitación de boda muy original- A very original wedding invitation

Aquí os dejo la invitación de boda de mi amiga Saskia que se casa en México en agosto.
Me encanta, es muy original y romántica. Ella escribió su historia de amor en una pizarra y luego la fotografió.
Ojala pudiera ir, cuando estuve allá me enamoré de México. ¡¡Qué ganas de volver!!

I love it, I think it is very original and romantic. She wrote their love history on a blackboard and then took a picture.

Florence Broadhurst prints – Diseños textiles de Florence Broadhurt

Florence Broadhurst era una mundialmente renombrada diseñadora de telas y de papeles pintados australiana. Combinó las insinuaciones del Oriente con el estilo modernista de los años 30 Europeos.
Aunque estos diseños fueron realizados entre 1959 y su muerte en 1977, son de una gran actualidad.

Although they were designed between 1959 and her death in 1977, they look very modern.
